Garbage Perform "Blood For Poppies" + "Automatic Systematic Habit" on Late Night with Jimmy Fallon ›
@TheBlockMag: “Issue of Marriage Equality” The Block magazine’s latest issue.
Yay! Don’t you love to see what’s coming? Here’s a sneak peek at the unique editorials featured in the S/S 2012 publication. This “Issue of Marriage Equality” is full of many familiar faces, including front woman Shirley Manson of Garbage (<3), Boyd Holbrook (yummy!), and favorite model Ymre Stiekema.
What’s interesting is that they chose real life same-sex couples for some of the editorials and they serve us a helping of great fashions to create a political statement.
If you aren’t already reading The Block, you should go ahead and pick up this great issue.

Shirley Manson on Chelsea Lately [INTERVIEW]
“BLOOD FOR POPPIES” TO BE THE FIRST SINGLE FROM GARBAGE’S NOT YOUR KIND OF PEOPLE
NEW ALBUM TO BE RELEASED IN TWO CONFIGURATIONS ON MAY 15, 2012
BAND UNVEILS TRACKLISTING, ALBUM ART AND MORE TOUR DATES
LOS ANGELES, CA – March 8, 2012 – Garbage – Shirley Manson (vocals), Steve Marker (guitars, keyboards), Duke Erikson (guitars, keyboards) and Butch Vig (drums, loops) – announced that “Blood For Poppies” would be the first single from their upcoming studio album, Not Your Kind Of People, due out on May 15, 2012 on the band’s STUNVOLUME record label.
“The song is meant to feel sort of like an abstract dream,” said Shirley Manson. “The inspiration came from a story I had read in The Los Angeles Times about the opium trade and also from watching the documentary ‘Restrepo.’ It’s not literal in any sense whatsoever but it’s a song about disorientation and delusion and the human struggle to stay sane in the face of insanity.”
The video for “Blood For Poppies” was recently shot in Los Angeles by renowned fashion photographer and filmmaker Matt Irwin. Additionally, the band filmed a video that they posted to their social media revealing the tracklisting for Not Your Kind Of People:
